Wheelers final home match of the season

Titans Wheelers final home match in the league campaign
Wheelers play there penultimate All-Ireland league match of the season when they hosted Limerick Scorpion this coming Sunday in Westside, with a 2pm tip-off.

After clocking up two victories on the road against the highly fancied Dundalk Ravens and the Cork Rebels teams, Wheelers, who were playing away again, were brought back down to earth last Saturday by a Clonaslee team who are currently 2nd in the All-Ireland Wheelchair league.

A much depleted Wheelers teams began the match in a whirlwind, and with some faW-ball 001ntastic offensive play by Keith Connolly, the Ardrahan man lead from the tip-off and his outside shooting was red hot, scoring some great shots from well outside the key. He was ably assisted by Bartley Walsh in defensive; the Kilkerrin player was tenacious in defensive, regardless of the size of the Clonaslee players. The other member of the small squad added to the teams scoring powers and lead by 3 points going in at half time.

With only 5 players in a position to start, the second half took it’s toll on the small squad, with the full strength Clonaslee team being able to up the pace as the Wheelers tired in the second half with County Laois based team finally wining the match by 9 points.

Loic Bocquet, was satisfied with the performance form a depleted squad and even though it was a loss, it was a great performance and it should set us up nicely for our match on Sunday, stated the Craughwell man.

Titans Wheelers who have a match in hand over there rivals’ are currently in 5th position in the league and with only 1 point separating 3rd to 5th teams, a victory against the Limerick side would see them jump to 3rd in the table with only another away match against South-east remaining.
