Titans u17 girls welcomed the Ennistymon girls to Westside today as part of the Clare girls preperation for their Halloween Tour of Spain.They came in search of a competitive game..and got it!The Titans were led out by their captain Theodora Bandut and from early on were winning both defensive and Offensive boards with the tenacity of Rachel Mc Cormack,the hang time of Lara and the outstretched arms of Chemika, yet we were slow to convert posession into points.Meanwhile the Clare Cascaders were firing up shots from downtown,with Lynn O’DohertyCiara O’Donnell and Sarah Clair all hitting threes!But it wasn’t long before The Titans got into their stride with Rachel and Lara converting rebounds,new girl Ailbhe chippin in with the 12 footers andEmer adding a three of her own..The Titans ran the bench freely, and the guards(Meave Garrity,Katie Coughlan,Emer and Hannah) moved the ball with great grace and urgency at times while being under the kosh of the Ennistymon press.Julia Araujo our Spanish signing emitomised our defensive passion(with 4 fouls in four minutes….)while in offense Sarah Grealish inspired with 13 points.In the last quarter with Clare within two points,Evelyn Burke nailed a turnaround two from the freethowline and Ailbhe brought the game home.In truth, the Titan girls made a good account of themselves and are coming together as a  group of girls towards the formation of a team who can compete with their peers.Congratulations to this new Titan Team and Best of luck to the Cascaders in Spain!
