Considering that Corrib had lost so many players and the Titans hadn’t enough players under this age group last season to enter a team in the league, it was so good to see these two clubs back in competitive action again.
From the outset, the Titans identified David Kelly as the danger man, and they were proven right as he continued to do damage despite the intensity of the Titans defensive pressure from the ever attentive Jake Tiernan.
Rory o’neill controlled the game from the whistle and set up Eoin Coughlan and Jake for some fine outside shooting. But as the Corrib zone made the necessary adjustments the Titans pushed the ball inside to the Bigmen Ladmy, Kenneth and Oisin Dolan. Joseph Tinney drove the lane hard, got his hand on some offensive rebounds and finished strong. Vitor Cruz is growing in confidence and worked the baseline to great effect while holding the Corrib Bigman to the minimum on the defensive end.
Corrib stayed in contention with the emergence of some new players, but the Titans came away with the win, capping a fine return to Competitive Basketball!
