Lunchtime Friday the Titan early school leavers set off from Westside on a Bank holiday Friday for the 6 hour version of a 2.5 hr journey to Castleisland. A quick wedding crash with the Team in Templeglantine was followed by an hour sitting in traffic in Abbeyfeale. Finally Killarney Nike store, a disappointment of no basketball boots , fed foddered and a quick jaunt up Torc mountain. The early evening dusk accentuated the white water of Torc waterfall, a 12 yr old tells me that the 2 stars in the sky are actually Jupiter and Venus. The final jaunt to Castleisland was a feast of face painting in the blue and white that culminated with our arrival in the gym in C’island resembling a scene from Braveheart. The 300 locals who filled the gym were there more to be entertained than to support as was evidenced in their lack of a responce to the singing and chanting and roaring of the 30 strong Titan cohort.
